Fleksy Releases Android Update, Introduces Emojis and Personalization Service

San Francisco, CA (PRWEB) February 13, 2014

Fleksy, the award-winning touchscreen keyboard company, today released its anticipated Android update 1.2.3 to bring a more personal user experience to touchscreen typing. The latest version of the app adds 500 emojis to the keyboard and also includes My Fleksy, a personalization service that integrates a user’s personal writing style with Fleksy’s language algorithm. The update comes after a full round of successful beta testing from the Fleksy Google+ community.

Fleksy’s keyboard now includes over 500 of the most popular emojis, letting users communicate with others using expressive and fun images. My Fleksy lets users import their personal writing styles from Gmail, Facebook, Twitter, SMS messages and personal dictionary, enabling Fleksy’s language algorithm to learn from a user’s unique writing style to improve overall typing accuracy.

“With the incorporation of emojis into our keyboard, which was the most requested feature by our users, we’ve combined the most advanced touchscreen typing technology with the most creative way that users like to express themselves while typing,” said Ioannis Verdelis, COO of Fleksy.

Fleksy’s personalization service, My Fleksy, allows users to import their personal writing styles from Gmail, Facebook, Twitter, SMS messages and personal dictionary. The personalization service enables Fleksy’s language algorithm to learn from a user’s unique writing style to improve overall typing accuracy. “We all have an individual style of writing, and Fleksy’s language algorithm now incorporates this to bring a much faster and accurate experience to touchscreen typing,” said Kosta Eleftheriou, CEO of Fleksy.

Fleksy’s award-winning keyboard has received over a quarter million downloads since its release just three months ago. The app can be downloaded from Google Play here.

About Fleksy

Fleksy is a revolutionary keyboard powered by patent-pending technology that makes typing on any device fast, accurate and so easy you can type without looking. Its unique language algorithm founded on Geometric Intelligence moves beyond text prediction and autocorrect to give a much more accurate and easier typing experience than other keyboards. Winner of the 2013 CES Innovations Design and Engineering Award, Fleksy is the first keyboard app to be demonstrated on a 3D gesture system (Leap Motion); the first to be demonstrated on a smartwatch (Omate) and the first to arrive on iOS. Fleksy’s award-winning design and technology is backed by venture capital firms including Highland Capital Partners and Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers. JobPage Launches Crowd Sourced Job Service To Help People And Their Communities Find Employment

London (PRWEB UK) 19 March 2013

JobPage (http://www.jobpage.com) launches a radical new concept for finding employment that democratises the job search process and connects real people to real jobs.

Breaking away from the hierarchies of company, recruiter and agency – which creates artificial barriers between the job seeker and the person hiring – instead on JobPage, you will find a growing number of everyday people helping others in their community find employment.

JobPage is a social jobs network where its members find inspirational jobs, including apprenticeships, published on company websites and then share them with their friends, family and local community who may be looking for work.

JobPage is a unique jobs service – it does not aggregate jobs, or allow mass postings from agencies – every job you see on JobPage is there because a real person has personally endorsed it to help someone else find a new job.

“People often come across jobs when browsing the web that they know would be perfect for a friend, but for one reason or another they fail to let them know” says JobPage Co-founder Matthew Ogston. ”JobPage makes it quick and easy to share work opportunities with other people, inspiring them to find a job they love.”

JobPage is free to use for both job seekers and businesses – a valuable tool that will help local communities find employment, and help small businesses to grow by finding staff at zero cost.

Celebrating the Service Economy in Minneapolis: An Unlikely Partnership Launches a Community into Action

Minneapolis, Minnesota (PRWEB) March 29, 2013

Local startup Heroic (http://www.beheroic.com/) teams up with CRAVE Restaurants to celebrate the hardworking service economy in Minneapolis through a campaign called “Who Do You Love?” (http://www.beheroic.com/whodoyoulove). They are seeking recommendations from the public to discover little-known experts, artisans, and local craftsmen. The first 100 participants win a $ 20 gift card to CRAVE restaurants, and one will win one-year of free house cleaning.

Heroic is a newly formed community in the Twin Cities and is a free place for friends and neighbors to share recommendations of local service providers, like painters, carpenters, and mechanics. Who Do You Love is inspired by co-founders Dan Linstroth and Reed Robinson’s discovery of a little-known bike mechanic working out of his basement in Minneapolis named Sam Reinert.

“I discovered Sam through a recommendation from Reed and he blew me away with his service,” says Linstroth. “He’s an absolute expert, provides incredible customer service, and charges a neighborly price.”

By making this connection, the two friends began wondering how many people like Sam exist in the Twin Cities of other crafts. Who Do You Love was born, and they’re seeking word-of-mouth recommendations from the community to uncover more experts, just like Sam.

“These are the hardworking, honest people that make our neighborhoods run,” adds Linstroth. “They are the soul of our local economy and deserve to be recognized.”

Heroic is encouraging people to share by offering a limited number of Gift Cards to CRAVE restaurants and the chance to win one-year of free house cleaning.

“CRAVE was very generous in showing their support for this idea and Happy Earth Cleaning Company, another fantastic service provider, chipped in the incredible cleaning offer,” says Linstroth with excitement. “We’re very grateful for their participation.”

The Who Do You Love campaign emphasizes the core of Heroic,“which is friends and neighbors sharing good old-fashioned referrals,” says Linstroth. “We want to facilitate this age-old, word-of-mouth behavior online while helping people like Sam get discovered.”

The service provider of the winning recommendation will also win prizes from Heroic. Professional photos and video plus a free premium upgrade on the site are all meant to celebrate the winning expert from the local service economy.

About Heroic

Heroic (http://www.beheroic.com/) is a free place for friends to share recommendations of favorite service providers. A personal referral from a friend or neighbor is the best source of information. Heroic is also free for service providers and will be incorporating a premium version in the future. The company is currently available in the Minneapolis/Saint Paul market and features service providers in 150 categories, all crowd-sourced and user-verified through personal recommendations. The company was founded by Justin Barrett (CEO), Ethan Otterlei (CTO), Reed Robinson (CPO), and Dan Linstroth (CMO).

WebPurify Launches Video Moderation Service To Fight Pornography and Bullying

Los Angeles, CA (PRWEB) April 04, 2013

Last week a pornographic video involving an infant was posted on Facebook. According to Fox News, this disturbing content was shared tens of thousands of times and “liked” by 4,000 users. This unfortunate, but not uncommon incident, could have easily been prevented by using WebPurify.

WebPurify, the Internet’s first and most popular profanity filtering and image moderation API has launched a live video moderation service.

As the popularity of user-uploaded videos has soared, so has the opportunity for people to distribute harmful and illegal videos on social networks where such offensive material as child pornography can reach thousands, if not millions of people within seconds.

“It’s tragic enough that videos like this exist, but exposing users to traumatic content and destroying a company’s brand is completely avoidable,” said WebPurify Co-Founder Joshua Buxbaum. There is no way around this; real live human beings, not software, need to be reviewing every video before it goes live.”

Buxbaum believes that companies like Facebook are sacrificing the protection of children for the immediate gratification of their users.

“I understand the importance of the user experience, wanting to post a video and see it live immediately, but in this case, user experience doesn’t trump doing the right thing. ‘Going live’ is the perfect expression because once the content is out there, it ‘lives’ forever.”

Unfortunately, the problem isn’t limited to child pornography. Online bullying has become a significant issue, where the victims are often vulnerable teenagers. With people now being able to publish videos online with the simple tap of a finger, it’s inevitable that these tragedies will become even more commonplace. Too many social networking sites and other platforms rely on their users to report harmful content, but by the time they remove the offensive content, it’s often too late.

“Not having the proper safeguards in place, especially when WebPurify is available, is extremely irresponsible. WebPurify’s team not only moderates content, but we have also implemented systems to immediately alert our clients when that content contains potentially illegal or dangerous material” said WebPurify CTO & Co-Founder Jonathan Freger.

“If Facebook had used WebPurify, there is no way that video would have spread like wildfire. This was a wholly avoidable tragedy,” said Freger. “Our clients have relied on our platform to shield their website visitors from such harmful content. Incidents like this inspired the launch of our video moderation API.”

The WebPurify approach is far superior to purely-algorithmic services that allow for false positives, or unreliable crowd-sourced services that rely on anonymous, untrained and unaccountable internet users to moderate the content. Instead, WebPurify utilizes skilled teams of live moderators that are highly-trained and strictly-supervised.

About WebPurify.com:

WebPurify.com is a service of Los Angeles-based WebFurther, LLC. WebPurify was founded in 2007 as the web’s first and most popular profanity filtering service. They successfully launched their image moderation service in 2011 and recently launched their video moderation API. WebPurify pioneered “moderation as an API” by creating services that developers can easily integrate into their applications.

Start a Landscaping Service Business

Starting a landscaping service business is one of the most lucrative business options around. It is not only a rewarding option, it is also one of the easiest businesses to start and be successful in. The business hardly requires any capital to be invested and does not involve any overhead costs too. So if landscaping interests you and you feel that you have the dynamism then do go ahead and give it a try.

The Concept

Starting a landscaping service business would require you to know the basics about gardening and landscaping. If you feel that you are not proficient enough with the basics then the best way to learn some more about the profession is to go through e-books on the Internet. Make sure that the book description tells you all about gardening, landscaping and interior scaping.

Once you have acquired the basics you would be ready to get started. At the starter level you would need to have a truck (to carry your equipment) and the tools that include watering cans, lawn mower, broom, rake and other assorted hand tools. If you are low on investment then rent the equipment and buy them later.

The main source of income for entrepreneur landscapers is from clean ups. Here you would be required to visit an overgrown landscape. Your job would be to clean the land of all overgrown plants and shrubs and get rid of the debris as well. The job pays quite well and hardly requires any labor. Start by taking up residential projects and move on to commercial ones later. Remain updated and have a proper understanding of the trade to gain enough profits.

Startup Cost

The startup cost of starting a landscaping service business is close to nil.

However you would require spending some amount on renting or buying the landscaping equipment. You would also need to have a business license from your city. So check all state and federal rules and have the requirements in place before you start.

If your business can afford to, do get an insurance cover before you start. If you cannot afford insurance at the first go then make sure that you get one as soon as possible.

Marketing Your Landscaping Service Business

The best way to market your landscaping business would be via word-of-mouth. You can also consider going door-to-door. Speak to interested neighbors and shopping mall owners. Both these methods of marketing your business are cheap but time consuming. However, they are also the best means to gain more clients in and around your home.

You can also consider flyers, newspaper advertisements and the Yellow pages. These methods are less time consuming and extremely effective. At the same time also try to use direct mail to weekly contact specific zip code zones.

To acquire commercial projects you would need to print advertisements in local business and monthly magazines. Make sure that the reader base for these magazines includes the upper income class of your city.

Best of Luck.
