The University of Southern California Standardizes Capital Project Management Information and Communications Tracking with e

Ft. Lauderdale, FL (PRWEB) March 13, 2012

eBuilder, the number one provider of integrated capital program and project management software to colleges and universities, announced today that The University of Southern California has selected eBuilder Enterprise to standardize their capital project planning, design, and construction processes. USC will leverage eBuilder Enterprises flexibility, easeofuse and deep module integration to enable a phased rollout to their construction management teams. By phasing the rollout, USC will quickly realize the benefits of consistent project communications, process management, and project controls while maintaining team productivity.

USCs Capital Construction Development, Facilities Management and Real Estate Teams are responsible for managing over 400 projects a year ranging from small renovations to major capital projects managed by a team of 30 project managers with a substantial annual capital project budget. The team required a system that would help them enable more methodical cost controls, as well as provide better visibility into project costs for the universitys administrators.

USC is standardizing business processes across their entire capital projects portfolio so they can be codified into eBuilder to reduce risk. As a result, eBuilder Enterprise will allow USCs Capital Construction Development, Facilities Management and Real Estate Teams to establish consistent and measurable business processes that can be refined as USCs requirements evolve. eBuilder will also serve as the collaboration and communications hub to ensure all projectrelated information is stored in a safe, easily accessible, and auditable database.

USC will also use eBuilder Enterprises Planning Module to help the University develop, prioritize and approve new capital plans. This module tracks the evolution of their capital plans, ensuring the team has complete visibility and supporting documentation for each change as it occurs. The eBuilder Enterprise Planning Module centralizes all information related to the capital plan, including design information, topographical studies, feasibility studies, and more. The builtin integration between eBuilders Cost and Planning modules enables USCs Capital Construction Development, Facilities Management and Real Estate Teams to leverage past project cost information, and use this data to develop more accurate estimates.

With nearly half of the top 10 Universities, as ranked by US News & World Report, already using e Builder, the addition of another leading higher education institution builds upon our commitment to deliver best demonstrated practices that produce real results says Jonathan Antevy, CEO of eBuilder, Inc.

County of Ventura Standardizes Construction Information Management with e-Builder Software

Ft. Lauderdale, FL (PRWEB) March 27, 2012

e-Builder, the pioneer of web-based construction program management software, announced today that the County of Ventura, California, has selected e-Builder Enterprise to more efficiently manage their construction program information, communications, and executive reporting. Initially, the Countys Engineering Services Department will leverage e-Builders Cost, Processes, Scheduling, Reporting, and Documents modules for their vertical construction projects (fire stations, hospitals). Following the initial implementation, other departments, including Water and Sanitation, Transportation and Watershed Protection, will leverage the software later in 2012.

The primary goal for County of Ventura County is standardizing all construction program management, cost tracking and reporting. The Engineering Services team is currently managing 27 projects in all phases from planning through construction, including a $ 200 million hospital replacement project. They realized the benefits of consolidating the vast amount of information generated by these projects with e-Builder, and using integrated reporting capabilities to aggregate data into a broad range of project reports and executive dashboards. Automatically distributed to Countys management teams, these reports will provide a single-point of visibility into the overall status of the Countys projects. Management teams will then easily track availability of funds, potential cost exposures, cashflow requirements, and accurate forecasts of projected cost to complete.

Phil Nelson, Director of Engineering Services, believes e-Builder will help control the flow of information and communications during a projects lifecycle. As a result, Nelson expects a streamlined and improved audit process. We will benefit from the flexibility to customize and generate executive reports, as these will help us be more transparent said Nelson.

Jonathan Antevy, e-Builder CEO, commented we are experiencing a lot of interest from government organizations looking to enable a more structured and reliable approach to managing construction projects, especially those financed by federal and state funds.

FIRM INTRODUCES “INFORMATION INTERFACE” for LOCAL MARKETS.

(PRWEB) August 7, 2004

NASHVILLE, TN (PRWEB): August, 7, 2004 Tip O’Neil said all politics are local and at NashvillesNews they would add “news” to the list. The company’s web application is a combination newspaper, blog, wiki and publicly agent geared toward metropolitan markets. According to the company the application gives users a comprehensive overview of all relevant local and national news on a single page updated more than 300 times a day. In addition to traditional news, sports, weather the application is providing individuals, groups and businesses free access to advanced publicity generation and blog functions.

Dubbed a “metablog” with local market orientation the developers are betting that people will turn to NashvillesNews.com when seeking timely information on a wide range of subjects including local politics, hard news, entertainment, events and even missing pets.

According to company spokesperson John Bransford “It’s a natural extension of the new XML messaging technologies. The tools were developed for cross communication and promotion among the rapidly expanding universe of new blogs. Blogging is about communicating your words, thoughts and ideas and these new protocols are all about getting the word out or making your existence known. We’ve taken these tools and brought then together under one roof. The aggregate result of the applications use of blogging XML-RPC has been to amplify the effectiveness and extend the range of the tools.“

“The power of our own application didn’t sink in till about midway through the development process we noticed that a lot of our internal memos and groupware postings were showing up in common web searches a few hours later. It took us a few days to figure out how it was happening.”

“RSS (really simple syndication) was not the first messaging protocol on the net but it was the template for blog messaging and has been followed by Trackback, Pingback, Waypath, Delicious, and more. According to Bransford “these blog cross messaging protocols are doing more than just putting out a digital “open for business” sign. They’re publishing meaning by giving the words context and relevance which are the high grade fuels for search engine spiders. This is the stuff that’s begun to set the web in motion by helping the web content describe itself. Not surprisingly that is the precise reason XML (extensible markup language) was developed to gradually replace html.”

“It’s effective as the Howard Dean for president people can confirm. Dean Space used the exact same tool called Drupal.”

“A relative handful of traditional news publishers are using these available XML publishing technologies. I would add that no one including ourselves is using them to their greatest potential. We’re working on changing that but you have to start somewhere. Our digital media publishing tool is in an alpha state at NashvillesNews.net and Musicfeed.net. It’s doing for audio – i.e. music what we’ve done for words or at least it’s getting there.”

“The next release due in September will highlight relevant blog content as much as news publication reporting. There’re an incredible number of excellent blogs with content as good as or better than that found in most local publications. Our intent is to offer through the user interface those blogs that are pertinent or just interesting to the community.”

“The overall game plan is to attach relevance to the content – words, audio or video — and make it useable and accessible through the web.”
