The sort of presence that says I am comfortable with my professional role, I am comfortable with the power that comes with it, I am comfortable with my point of view, and I am comfortable being the center of attention when that’s required. In short — I am comfortable being in my own skin. How do I get there if I think I don’t have it? Message: Act as if — Take the leap of faith, and the feeling will kick in. Remove verbal and non-verbal barriers — once you know they’re there, they’re easily corrected. State your point of view — even if you think others might disagree. Take the 20% leap — show 20% more of everything you’ve got. Choose to connect — Make it not about you but all about connecting with them.
