Why the hell are taxpayers paying for this crap when there are corporations begging to pay for it themselves????

Constellation was “over budget” only to the extent that NASA was being required to implement a program which Congress underfunded by over 70 percent.

I think the long term future of space exploration is more important than letting people keep their jobs for the relatively short term.
Also, directing the funding to the private sector instead can spawn a self sustainable space industry free from government funding problems and bureaucracy. And a lot more employment opportunities will be created.

    KKM121 says:

By “screwing over NASA” I assume you’re talking about the cancellation of the Constellation Program.
From what I saw, most people who are informed about the development of space exploration agrees that the Constellation Program was over budget, behind schedule, and not worth continuing. Except for those who lost their job due to the cancellation.
Even the SLS is being criticized as being created just to keep jobs.

I hated him for screwing over NASA, you know? A lot of people lost their jobs, and not just the people in the program. It hurt the community in ways that will take years for them to recover from. 60 minutes did a bit on it.Yet, I’m glad he let SpaceX take off.
