imo.im Launches Broadcasts on Android and iOS Mobile Apps

PALO ALTO, CA (PRWEB) May 23, 2013

imo.im, the company behind a top messaging network that allows users to communicate across nine of the most popular third-party messaging services, announced today the introduction of Broadcasts on its mobile platforms. The imo Network, first introduced on the web last year and met with positive user feedback, has been redesigned for users on both Android and iOS devices. This update comes on the heels of a recent $ 13 million Series B round led by co-founder and angel investor, Georges Harik, one of Google’s first 10 employees. The funds will be used to rapidly grow the imo Network over the next year.

The new mobile Broadcasts feed, an integral function of the imo Network, creates a channel where users can easily discover people, information, news and topics they care about in an effort to build relationships and spark discussions. Additionally, users now have the ability to upload and share photos directly to the Broadcasts feed. With the Broadcasts feature, users no longer need to search for friends or specific topics as imo ranks content using a proprietary algorithm that identifies users’ interests. It then generates the appropriate connections with like-minded individuals and groups of people based on these interests, location and friends by evaluating behavior and engagement within the imo Network.

“Social discovery is an important feature,” said Ralph Harik, CEO of imo.im. “We want users to find relevant and useful information, people, news and other content that will make their lives better. imo Broadcasts is a platform to achieve that.”

Always focused on innovation and leading the mobile communications industry, the team at imo quickly adapts to new trends and creates its own by churning out constant updates for its apps and web platform based on users’ needs. As a result, imo has been rapidly expanding its services for both web, mobile and tablet users over the past year. In fact, earlier this year, imo launched completely new UI designs for Android, iPhone and iPad users and introduced high-quality voice calling feature that allow friends and family to stay in touch without sacrificing mobile minutes over a 3G/4G connection or allotted data when connected to Wi-Fi. Additionally, all three platforms now include group sharing and real-time uploading of photos.

About imo.im

imo offers an all-in-one communication and social discovery platform with supported networks including AIM, Facebook, Google Talk, ICQ, Jabber, MSN, Steam, VKontakte and Yahoo. Free on the web, Android, iPhone and iPad, imo has more than 7 million mobile downloads and 750,000 unique daily visitors delivering an average of 50 million messages per day. imo supports both private and group chat with the ability to share multimedia files and photos with groups, send voice and text IMs, conduct quick chat history searches and hold simultaneous sessions allowing users to seamlessly switch between desktop, mobile and tablet devices without losing conversations.

Based in Palo Alto, CA, imo was co-founded and funded by one of the first 10 employees at Google, Georges Harik.

Executive Summary For Mobile Business Intelligence and Analytics

Looking at the huge demand of smartphones, tablet computers and mobile solutions we will discuss the benefits, challenges, data management issues and recommendations for mobile business intelligence and analytics. It may be Apple’s iPad or any other similar device on consumer electronics website we will see that the entire marketing is only as per consumer’s wish like gaming, video calling, and watching movies in HD or just browsing the internet. But seeing at the immense use can these devices do anything for the experience of consuming, sharing or interacting with business data?

Business users are getting more excited to know whether they can use their smart devices for transforming the role of information in customer interactions, planning and forecasting, performance management or take their daily operational decisions while on the go. Business Intelligence can do all these, they are critical if mobile devices are to live up to their potential in the workplace. The pairing of both is not an easy task. Today’s smartphones are cool, glitzy and fun to own and are selected by customers as per their choice. With the help of mobile solutions they can download apps as per their wish from the app stores or access them through web browsers. Customers desire to get mobile applications shaped as per their use and in a personalized fashion. Business Intelligence is something different from this as they aim to provide users with repeatable analysis and high-quality, consistent data and reports.

With the release of recent tools and latest mobile applications that allow users to get some more self-service opportunities and data visualization choices but considering IT’s performance, security, other constraints and costs allow personalization to go only so far but not as far as they use the devices. IT managers are excited but not in a positive manner. The most important concern is of data security because it is adhered to regulations that threaten punishment if personally identifiable information (PII) and other data if exposed. But in mobile BI it may be not as scary or risky as it is feared by businesses and IT managers but it can be considered to be a major barrier while deploying BI and analytics on mobile devices.

When the need for real-time data arises there could be another tough challenge which is to meet the expectations for performance and availability. BI directors or IT managers are excited when it comes to any technology that is capable to raise opportunities for delivering right data to right users at the right time: the credo of Business Intelligence. This is because it is less relevant of users at what time and what place will they interact with data or receive the alerts about changes and trends that make impact on their responsibilities. Mobile devices can fulfil all these objectives that are behind BI deployments.

It is wise to enable BI and analytics in the great mobile devices that has amazing features like content-interaction, collaboration features, touch screen etc. Being so attractive and appealing for customers these devices could bring a revolution in BI experience for customers and especially among non-technical persons.

This article is useful for those users who are on the go and for IT departments who can support mobile users with BI deployments.

Palo Alto, CA (PRWEB) June 04, 2013

Today, Check announced a partnership with Alltel Wireless, a subsidiary of Atlantic Tele-Network, Inc., to provide Alltel customers with the ability to pay and track their bills on their smartphone. The service is now available across all smartphones offered by Alltel.

Recognizing the increasingly important role of mobile commerce, Alltel was interested in finding a top-notch solution that would help customers with bill payment and management. Their search ended with Check, the leading mobile bill payment service in the US. Alltel customers can now track everything through one app: Check – Bills & Money.

“We are excited to help partners, such as Alltel, provide a great mobile bill pay experience to their customers without the cost of building the technology themselves.”

“With the rapid adoption of smartphones, mobile payments is the fast-growing way to pay consumer bills”, said Gwenn Bezard, co-founder and research director of Aite Group. “Billers that provide a simple and convenient way to view and pay bills with a mobile device stand to improve customer satisfaction and increase their opportunities to interact with customers. Alltel’s partnership with Check demonstrates the firm’s understanding of the importance of providing a superior customer experience, and the economic benefits of providing a great mobile bill pay capability.”

Alltel customers can download the Check app for free from the Alltel App Shop, Google Play Store and the iTunes App Store.
