TIL in the 1920s and 30s, Procter & Gamble (originally known for soap and
candles) sponsored several radio shows, those shows becoming known as “soap
operas” https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Procter_%26_Gamble I have
step-relatives that are Procters (My grandmother’s first husband was a
Procter). All those family members who are Procters still get trust fund
money just for being related to the founder of the company. Crazy how that
wealth stretches.
